How royalties Work

Transparent earnings. Creator-first logic. Built into the foundation of Rythme.

Royalties are the heart of any music platform — and for too long, they’ve been treated as an afterthought. At Rythme, we’ve redesigned royalty logic from the ground up to ensure creators and their teams are properly, fairly, and consistently paid for the content they share.

We believe that ownership and reward should be baked into the system — not managed manually. That’s why every stream, sale, NFT drop, and token campaign on Rythme automatically triggers a revenue distribution process designed for creators, not corporations.

Who Gets Paid?

Royalties are distributed to the artist and, if applicable, their manager — based on verified profile relationships and preconfigured agreements.

Role

Method

Artist

✅ Yes

Automatically routed to linked wallet/account

Manager

✅ Yes (if assigned)

% split from artist earnings (defined at setup)

Listener

❌ No

Listeners may earn badges, tokens, or perks — but not royalties

Commissions are handled separately via the affiliate system

Artists and managers don’t need to request payouts or initiate transfers — earnings are routed automatically based on system activity.

What Triggers a Royalty?

Each monetized action across Rythme generates value — and that value flows directly to the creators behind the content.

Royalty-Generating Activities Include:

  • Music Streaming For users with a Premium plan or platform credits

  • Pay-Per-Download Purchases Single or album sales in high-quality formats

  • NFT Sales When fans purchase music-related NFTs on the Rythme Marketplace

  • Crowdfunding Contributions Where applicable, artist shares are calculated and routed in real time

Each transaction is tied to verified media or content IDs, ensuring that royalties reach the rightful owners — not intermediaries.

How It Works (Simplified)

While there’s no visible dashboard for tracking royalties, the system handles all logic in the background using a secure distribution protocol. Here's what happens:

User Streams or Purchases → System calculates share → Royalties split → Artist + Manager wallets credited automatically

There are no payout delays, no manual uploads, and no missed plays — every micro-interaction counts.

📌 Earnings are updated in near real time. The system aggregates all qualified revenue activity and routes payouts accordingly, reducing overhead and increasing trust.

Revenue Splitting

Artists with verified manager relationships automatically split earnings based on a preset percentage — typically configured at the time of onboarding.

Revenue Source
Artist % (default)
Manager %

Streams / Downloads

85%

15%

NFT Sales

90%

10%

Crowdfunding

100% artist (unless partner campaigns apply)

Note: These values may vary by artist and can be set up per release or campaign. Once approved, they are enforced platform-wide.

Security & Audit

Even though the royalty engine operates in the backend, it’s built for:

  • Accuracy: Every event is logged and accounted for

  • Transparency: Splits are predefined and immutable once assigned

  • Security: Wallet addresses are verified before receiving funds

  • Redundancy: Multiple fallback triggers ensure payout logic runs even during high load or partial service downtime

No Delays. No Third Parties. No Guesswork.

Unlike traditional platforms that pay quarterly (or not at all), Rythme removes the mystery. You don’t have to chase down distributors, wait for reports, or wonder if a track “counted.” Everything is automatic. Everything is optimized. Everything is yours.
